1. The Bear (Hulu)
The show that took awards season by storm is back. The first episode starts right after last season's screamy finale. There is plenty of yelling in this season as well, with lots of cameos from actual chefs.
2. Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F
Thirty years ago, Detroit cop Axel Foley made his last trek to Beverly Hills. Now, Eddie Murphy’s back to the character that (along with Gumby and a few other things) made him a household name. The reviews are middling at best, but that won’t stop die-hard fans (even fans of Die Hard) from enjoying the proceedings.
3. The Beekeeper (Prime Video)
If you're going to pull a phishing scam on a kindly little old lady, make sure that she doesn't have a friend like Jason Statham who's willing to bring his unique brand of vengeance down on your head.
4. Presumed Innocent (Apple TV+)
If you think you saw this movie with Harrison Ford back in 1990, you're right. But this time the Scott Turow novel it was based on has been turned into a series, with Jake Gyllenhaal taking on the role of a prosecutor accused of murder.
5. X (Kanopy)
The release of MaXXXine to theaters has horror fans seeking out the original film in the X series. All three star Mia Goth, as both the scream queen and the villain.
6. The Boys (Prime Video)
The Boys is backin town and this world of “heroes” is bloodier than ever. The group trying to stop the corporate-controlled supes from basically breaking or taking the world is fractured and if they don’t get it together, it’s gonna get worse. Thankfully, over on the spinoff, Gen V, they made a virus that kills those with powers.
7. Independence Day (Hulu)
Last week was the Fourth of July, plus the 27th anniversary of this epic tale of humans taking on aliens bent on our destruction.

8. Pearl (Prime Video)
Pearl is the second X film, but a prequel to the first, delving into what spawned the evil of the original in the 1920s. You don't have to see it to enjoy MaXXXine, but it won't hurt. Much.
9. House of the Dragon (Max)
There’s not much appointment TV left these days, but House of the Dragon fits the bill for those who don’t still feel burned (literally) by Daenerys Targaryen going full Mad Queen at the end of Game of Thrones. Take another trip back in time to that same incestuous family dynasty as they all fight with, you guessed it, even more dragons.
10. My Lady Jane (Prime Video)
Lady Jane Grey was queen of England for just nine days before she was executed for treason. For those who would like to imagine a much different life for the noble, there is My Lady Jane, which doesn't just bring feminism to Tudor England, it also brings shapeshifters. The series is based on a YA fantasy novel.
